    As the son of military parents, Gary Dodd and his family moved often, which made establishing long-term friendships difficult. So, as a young boy, he learned to enjoy solitude. He took up birdwatching, loved animals and enjoyed visiting zoos. As he progressed through school, agriculture was not on his career radar, much less the possibility of being honored as Corteva Agriscience and Rice Farming Magazine’s 2024 Rice Consultant of the Year.
