FAQ

My oilseed rape crop is really large, will Belkar still work?

You must be mindful of the size and type of the weeds that you are trying to treat and make sure that you apply the correct rate. In our experience over a huge number of trials, both in GB and across Europe, we have not seen any reduction in BLW control from applications of Belkar when applied to crops with a large canopy. Belkar offers effective control even down to 2 °C. The picloram has some ‘flashback activity’ which seems to negate any impact from shielding. Also, as the weather turns more wintery, frosts cause the canopy to open significantly, so revealing the weeds.

Belkar cannot be mixed with fungicides with PGR activity, but how long an interval should I leave between applying them and Belkar?

Belkar has a label restriction that prevents its application in tank-mixed with PGR fungicides as it has the potential to have an additive effect. It is recommended that an interval of 7 days is respected between applications.

Does Belkar control groundsel?

Groundsel control with Belkar is variable and will only stunt or warp the plant at best. Applying either LaDiva or Astrokerb will offer far better control, anecdotal information suggests that LaDiva will control groundsel up to 8 true leaves in size.
