Corteva Hawaii cancels 2020 sunflower tours due to COVID-19
Out of an abundance of caution, Corteva Agriscience has canceled its annual sunflower tours for 2020. With the global and national attention on coronavirus (COVID-19), the health and safety of our employees, volunteers and community is our top priority. We are closely monitoring the developments of this pandemic and following the recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO) and our state and local authorities. During this time of uncertainty, Corteva remains committed to our community’s well-being. In the future, Corteva hopes to again open up its Waialua farm to the community when it is deemed safe to gather.
In 2019 sunflower tours raised nearly $50,000 for Waialua nonprofits and attracted 24,500 people over 10 days. Corteva has been growing sunflowers in Waialua for more than 15 years to ensure the highest seed quality for its farmer customers worldwide.
