INDIANAPOLIS — Corteva, a leader in the development of reduced-risk pesticide solutions for disease, weed and insect control, announces the fall 2027 launch of Emiox™ specialty fungicide with Adavelt™ active for golf turf uses. Emiox fungicide will give golf course managers a new tool to help protect putting surfaces from common, destructive fungal diseases, including anthracnose and dollar spot, during peak summer stress.
Designed for use in golf turf applications, Emiox introduces a novel site of action that helps strengthen resistance management programs while supporting consistent, high-quality playing conditions when greens are under the greatest pressure.
“Golf course superintendents are expected to deliver consistent and playable greens through some of the most challenging disease-pressure windows of the season,” said Beverly Horton, portfolio marketing leader, Corteva. “With Emiox specialty fungicide, they will have access to the proven benefits of Adavelt active to help control anthracnose, suppress dollar spot and support responsible resistance management.”
Adavelt active (florylpicoxamid) targets a novel site in fungal pathogens to provide preventive control of anthracnose and, when applied early in the disease cycle, curative activity. It also provides control of dollar spot when conditions are favorable for low to moderate disease pressure. As a Group 21 fungicide with no known cross-resistance to other widely used fungicides, Adavelt active will give superintendents an additional tank-mixing option for programs that rely on multiple applications throughout the season. Because Adavelt active is derived from a naturally occurring microbe found in soil, Emiox specialty fungicide offers a more favorable environmental profile compared with other common golf turf products.
“Many anthracnose programs depend heavily on combinations of triazoles, strobilurins or chlorothalonil,” Horton said. “Emiox specialty fungicide will give superintendents a practical summertime tank-mix partner that delivers strong anthracnose performance, meaningful dollar spot control when disease pressure is low to moderate, and a different site of action to help address a critical gap in resistance management rotations. It is also easy to handle and has very low toxicity to birds, honeybees and earthworms.”
Anthracnose remains one of the most prevalent and damaging diseases on golf turf, impacting two out of every three courses nationwide and driving $46 million to $184 million in treatment expenses. Anthracnose appears as either foliar blight or basal rot, and while it can occur across turf types, creeping bentgrass and annual bluegrass are especially susceptible. Disease development is often driven by late-spring through early-fall conditions that place turf under prolonged stress.
“The way superintendents manage greens — low mowing heights, careful water and nitrogen use, heavy play and intense expectations for speed and consistency — creates a near-constant level of stress,” Horton said. “When summer heat arrives, those conditions can quickly favor anthracnose development.”
For courses making repeated fungicide applications during the growing season, Emiox specialty fungicide will offer another effective option to help keep greens playing and looking their best while helping preserve the utility of other important fungicide classes.
“Greens are one of a superintendent’s most visible measures of success,” Horton said. “Emiox specialty fungicide will give them a targeted solution for a damaging pathogen, strong performance against anthracnose and an additional way to diversify programs during high-pressure summer windows. For superintendents focused on playability, turf quality and long-term program stewardship, that combination matters.”
Environmental Protection Agency approval of Emiox specialty fungicide in July 2026 marks the fifth registered formulation with Adavelt.
