Anne L. Alonzo

Senior Vice President, External Affairs and Chief Sustainability Officer

Anne L. Alonzo is the Senior Vice President, External Affairs & Chief Sustainability Officer for Corteva Agriscience where she has responsibility for setting global strategy and leading the External Affairs function, which includes Corporate Communications, Corporate Responsibility, Government & Industry Affairs, and Product Advocacy.

Alonzo is a widely respected global food and agriculture leader and has forged a highly successful and diverse career in the public, not-for-profit and corporate sectors. Most recently, Alonzo served as President and CEO of the American Egg Board (AEB), the marketing arm of the U.S. egg industry. 

Before joining the AEB, Alonzo served as the Administrator of the Agricultural Marketing Agency (AMS) at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). Alonzo has also served as Vice President, Global Public Policy, Corporate Affairs at Kraft Foods. While at Kraft Foods, Alonzo was selected as the first woman to Chair the World Cocoa Foundation (WCF), an ag-based, sustainability non-profit organization.      

Prior to Kraft Foods, Alonzo was the Senior Vice President at the National Foreign Trade Council; Deputy Assistant Secretary at the International Trade Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce; Environmental Attaché to the U.S. Embassy, Mexico City coinciding with the NAFTA negotiations and Senior Regional Counsel at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region V, Chicago, IL.

Alonzo presently serves as a Board Member of the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) and serves on the Crop Life International (CLI) Sustainability Advisory Committee. Alonzo is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, The Chicago Network, an elite organization of Chicago’s leading professional women as well as a Fellow, National Association of Corporate Directors. Alonzo recently served on the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago’s Council on Agriculture, Small Business and Labor.

Alonzo is a recognized leader within the Latino community and has received many recent awards including Top 100 Most Influential Latinas, Chicago United People of Color Award; Latino Leader’s “Maestro” Award; Latino Brava (courage award); Whose Who” in Hispanic Chicago by Negocios Now and the Corporate Excellence Award by Remy Martin.

Alonzo holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and a Juris Doctorate from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago Kent College of Law.
